Invisalign® Clear Braces Are Ideal For...

Invisalign® Before & Afters

In the past, the surest method of straightening misaligned teeth and restoring symmetry to a smile was to use traditional braces, a series of metal brackets attached directly to the front surfaces of the teeth. Though effective, braces often caused the user to feel self-conscious about his or her appearance. In recent years, however, orthodontic treatment has evolved dramatically.

Frequently Asked Questions

For most patients, the cost of Invisalign ® is similar to that of braces, ranging from $3,000 to $8,000. Your final Invisalign cost will depend on several factors, including the complexity of your case, how long your treatment takes, and your insurance coverage. The area in which you live can also affect how much you pay for orthodontic treatment. Since the cost of Invisalign varies on a case-by-case basis, it is important to discuss costs with your dentist before beginning treatment. Invisalign is considered a wise investment for patients interested in a discreet treatment option.
Invisalign can treat many of the same conditions as braces, including overcrowding and gaps in your smile. The overall price will vary depending on the extent of misalignment. For example, if you have a single gap between your front teeth, the price of treatment will likely be less than that of someone with a severely crooked smile. Invisalign offers several types of trays that are designed to address a range of orthodontic issues. The price varies for each solution.
In some cases, treatment with Invisalign is faster and more effective than traditional braces, which can save you time and money. Invisalign features of a series of clear, plastic aligners. Each new set of aligners is slightly different and gradually guides your teeth into their ideal position. The longer your treatment takes, the more aligners you will need, which can raise the overall cost of treatment. For some conditions, Invisalign can correct misalignment more quickly than braces. However, the length of treatment can vary significantly from patient to patient.
Not all dental insurance plans include coverage for orthodontic treatments. However, if your plan covers braces, there is a chance it also covers Invisalign. It is a good idea to consult your insurance company before beginning the Invisalign process to ensure your treatment will be covered. You can also use your flexible spending account (FSA) to pay for Invisalign.
Invisalign is an advanced alternative to braces that provides a more comfortable and discreet way to straighten your teeth. In some cases, treatment with Invisalign is actually faster and more effective than traditional braces. Invisalign also requires fewer trips to your dentists office, saving you on copays and other office fees. With its numerous cosmetic and oral health benefits, many patients consider Invisalign to be a worthwhile investment in their smile.
Every patient has a different budget, case, and set of goals when it comes to orthodontic treatment. While Invisalign ® remains a popular choice for patients who are interested in a discreet solution, it is not the best choice for everyone. Some patients are seeking more cost-effective treatments, some want a shorter treatment timeline, and others simply do not qualify for Invisalign. Fortunately, there are several alternatives to Invisalign on the market, and your dentist can help you select a treatment that closely aligns with your needs and expectations.

More About Invisalign® Treatment in Keller & Fort Worth, TX

Who is A Candidate for Invisalign®
In the past, the surest method of straightening misaligned teeth and restoring symmetry to a smile was to use traditional braces, a series of metal brackets attached directly to the front surfaces of the teeth. Though effective, braces often caused the user to feel self-conscious about his or her appearance. In recent years, however, orthodontic treatment has evolved dramatically. We are proud to offer Invisalign® at our Keller, Texas office as a discreet, modern alternative to traditional braces.

How Invisalign® Works
First, you will undergo a full oral examination at Dentistry for Life. If you are a suitable candidate for Invisalign®, the doctor will take x-rays and digital 3-D images of your teeth to determine your customized treatment plan. At that time, the doctor will be able to show you a digital representation of how your teeth will shift closer to their optimal position at each stage of the process.

Once you have received your specially crafted mouthpieces, you will begin wearing the first in the series. The mouthpiece should be worn at least 22 hours per day and removed only during meal times or for brushing and flossing. Every two weeks, you will replace your current mouthpiece with the next in the series, which will further guide your teeth toward their proper alignment. Our doctors will schedule periodic checkups to assess your progress.

Advantages of Invisalign®
Unlike braces, Invisalign® requires no restrictions on the foods you eat. Patients wearing braces are often not able to participate in contact sports because the metal brackets can cut the inside of the mouth, but Invisalign® wearers can continue participating in the sports they love. And because Invisalign® is removable, you need only pop your mouthpiece out when it’s time to clean your teeth, and you can brush and floss as you did prior to treatment. Cleaning the mouthpiece itself is as simple as rinsing it under the faucet.

How Long Does Treatment Last?
No two patients’ needs are exactly the same, so every Invisalign® treatment plan is tailored to an individual’s needs. Some plans take more time than others to achieve the desired effects. Depending upon your needs, our dentists can give you an accurate estimate of how much time your Invisalign® treatment will require during your consultation

Weighing Your Options
Although you have many orthodontic systems to choose from, the proven benefits of Invisalign make the treatment a great option to consider. In addition to the original product, Invisalign is also available in Teen and Express options. Patients whose cases are considered too severe for Invisalign treatment can nearly always achieve their goals with traditional orthodontics. In very rare cases, surgery may be recommended. During an Invisalign consultation, you can discuss all your questions and concerns with your doctor.

Drawbacks of Invisalign Treatment
While traditional orthodontic treatment can be customized for virtually any case, Invisalign may not be the best option for treating severe gaps or certain types of misalignment. Patients should also consider treatment timeline, their lifestyle, and budget.
